Rosina F. "Rose" O'Toole, 94, of Davenport, Iowa, formerly of Dubuque, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003, at Kahl Home, Davenport.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery, both in Davenport. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Halligan McCabe De Vries Funeral Home, Davenport, where there will be a prayer service at 6:30 p.m.

She was born on March 9, 1909, in Buena Vista, Iowa, daughter of John and Christina (Zimmer) Schmidt. She married William R. O'Toole on June 6, 1934, in Buena Vista; he preceded her in death on April 1, 1978.

In earlier years, Mrs. O'Toole worked as an aide for Mercy Hospital. She later became one of the first school crossing guards for the city of Davenport. She then worked as a cook for Northwest Bank, Davenport.

She was a member of Holy Family Church, its Altar and Rosary Society and Mercy Hospital Auxiliary.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Thomas Keefe, of Windsor, Colo.; sons and daughters-in-law, Loras and Lynn O'Toole, of Bettendorf, Iowa, Dennis and Karen O'Toole, of Indianapolis, and William and Linda O'Toole, of Davenport; 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Esther Link, of Dubuque; and a brother, Leonard Schmidt, of Dubuque.

She also was preceded in death by three sisters, Marie, Alvina and Rita; and a brother, Wilford.

Memorials may be given to Holy Family Church and the Kahl Home for the Aged.
