Mrs. Albert (Beatrice J.) Dolphin, 95, of Stonehill Care Center, who formerly lived at Alverno Apartments for 17 years, died at 3:10 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003, at the care center.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Raphael's Cathedral. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Davenport, Iowa. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., where there will be a scripture wake service at 4 p.m.

Mrs. Dolphin was formerly employed as a registered nurse at Mercy Hospital in Davenport. After her retirement, she was a faithful volunteer in nursing service in Davenport.

She was born on May 10, 1908, in South Garryowen, Iowa, daughter of Daniel and Bridget (Deacon) Sullivan. She married Albert Dolphin on Feb. 19, 1935, at St. Aloysius Church, South Garryowen; he died on Oct. 28, 1970.

Beatrice was a member of St. Raphael's Cathedral Parish.

Surviving are two daughters, Sr. Lois Dolphin, BVM, of Chicago, and Sr. LaVerne Dolphin, BVM, of Dubuque; three sisters, Marie McMahon, of Cascade, Iowa, her twin sister, Bernice O'Meara, of Dubuque, and Margaret Jefferson, of Clinton, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by a sister, Agnes Takes; and a brother, John Sullivan.

Memorials may be given to Stonehill Care Center, 3485 Windsor Ave., Dubuque, Iowa 52001.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of Stonehill Care Center and Hospice of Dubuque for their loving care and concern for Beatrice.
