Russell Roy Puckett, 67, of El Cajon, Calif., formerly of Dubuque, died of natural causes Sunday morning, Dec. 14, 2003, at home.

Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in Linwood Cemetery, both in Dubuque. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., Dubuque, where there will be a parish wake service at 4:30 p.m.

Mr. Puckett worked as an electronics repairman, retiring in 1988.

He was born on Jan. 31, 1936, in Hawkeye, Iowa, son of Joseph Bartley and Charlotte (Wade) Puckett.

He spent many years in Dubuque and various parts of the Midwest, including Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, Kansas and Wyoming. He settled in El Cajon in 1988.

He was an avid square dancer.

Surviving are his former wife, Irma Hahn Puckett, of Dubuque; two daughters, Bonnie (Bill) Gourley, of Dubuque, and Barbara Puckett, of Kansas City, Mo.; three sons, Russell Puckett, of McKeesport, Pa., Robert Puckett, of Dubuque, and Steven (Teresa) Puckett, of New York; five grandchildren, Randy and Ryan Puckett, Moriah Winters and Matthew and Christopher Gourley; a sister, Donna (Michael) Milroy Lindauer, of Dubuque; and three brothers, Larry Milroy, of Des Moines, Frank Milroy, of Dubuque, and Ray (Paula) Milroy, of Sycamore, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlotte Puckett Cole and Joseph Bartley Puckett; a brother, Ted Milroy; and a sister, Anna Marie Milroy.
