Mrs. Charles H. (Elizabeth M. "Betty") Snyder, 96, of Heritage Manor, formerly of 2060 Mullen Road, died at 2:35 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003, at Heritage Manor.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., where there will be a parish wake service at 5:30 p.m.

She was born on Aug. 23, 1907, in Sinsinawa, Wis., daughter of Joseph J. and Mary (Wiederholt) Weber. She attended the former Bayless Business College, Dubuque.

She married Charles H. Snyder on Jan. 17, 1935, in Dubuque; he preceded her in death on April 30, 1984. They co-owned and operated Snyder Bros. Cleaners and Nu-Way Cleaners, both in Dubuque.

She was a member of St. Anthony's Parish and its Rosary Society.

Betty enjoyed fishing at the cottage in Bellevue. She also enjoyed doing craft work. She was an excellent cook and baker and gave away many cookies.

Surviving are a sister, Viola Hess, of Dubuque; two sisters-in-law, Loretta Weber, of Hazel Green, Wis., and Kate Weber, of Cuba City, Wis.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by three sisters, Catherine Cogan, Josephine Miller and Bernice Stillmunkes; and three brothers, Edward, Raymond and Walter Weber.

Memorials may be given to Albrecht Acres, 14775 Sherrill Road, Sherrill, Iowa 52073.
