Marie A. Kearney, 86, of Ennoble Manor Care Center, formerly of 677 W. Third St., died Friday, Dec. 12, 2003, at the care center.

Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Raphael's Cathedral. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West, Iowa. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road, where there will be a parish scripture wake service at 4 p.m.

She was born on March 24, 1917, in Dubuque, daughter of Joseph and Mary (Houps) Donahue. She married Clarence H. Kearney on March 1, 1937, at St. Raphael's Cathedral; he preceded her in death in 1961.

She was a former member of St. Raphael's Rosary Society, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the South End Club. She also was past president of the Dubuque Firefighters Auxiliary.

Surviving are three sons, Thomas J. (Ann) Kearney, Dennis C. (Kathy) Kearney and Michael (Darlene) Kearney, all of Dubuque; grandchildren, Nancy (Dennis) Sabers, Pat and Mary Kearney, John (Lori) Kearney, Jim (Nancy) Kearney, Susan (Jeff) Gourley and Daniel Kearney, all of Dubuque, Shelly (Ken) DeGrot, of Justin, Texas, David Kearney, Terry Kearney and Jennifer Kearney, all of Lancaster, Wis., and Brad (Deanna) Kearney, of San Antonio, Texas; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Leona (Bernie) Sutton, of St. Catherine, Iowa; and a sister-in-law, Bernice Donahue, of Dubuque.

She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Melvin "Buck" and John Donahue; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Donahue.

A Marie Kearney Memorial Fund has been established.
