NEW VIENNA, Iowa - Evelyn M. Kruse, 92, of New Vienna, died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2003, at the Ellen Kennedy Living Center, Dyersville, following a brief illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Vienna, with the Rev. Phil Kruse and the Rev. John O'Connor officiating. Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church, where an Altar and Rosary Society and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary rosary will be recited at 4 p.m., and a parish scripture service will be at 7 p.m. Friends also may call after 9 a.m. Thursday at the church. The Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, is in charge of arrangements.

She was born on May 10, 1911, in Adrian, Minn., daughter of William H. and Ceceilia (Fangman) Pasker. She married Henry L. Kruse, Sr. on Jan. 22, 1935, in Colesburg; he preceded her in death in 1993.

Evelyn was a homemaker, and thoroughly enjoyed her family.

She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, St. Boniface Rosary Society, Senior Citizens Center, VFW Auxiliary, Heritage House and New Vienna Prayer Group.

Surviving are two sons, Henry A. (Doris) Kruse, Jr., of New Vienna, and Ronald L. (Mary Lou) Kruse, of Dyersville; 17 grandchildren, Kevin, Karl, Kelly, Karen, Pam, Phil, Terry, Randy, Tammy, Janice, Judy, Lynn, Shelly, Craig, Kim, Ted and Tony; six great-grandchildren, Kendra, Kayla, Danielie, Luke, Shawn and Dawn; a great-great-grandchild, Kristen; a brother, Wilfred (Delores) Pasker, of Dyersville; a sister, Margret (Jerry) Vondran, of Galena, Ill.; and a sister-in-law, Agnus Pasker, of Dyersville.

She also was preceded in death by four sons, Daniel, Robert, Richard and David; two grandchildren, Kerry and Lori Kruse; four brothers, Leander, Alfred, Anthony (Sunny) and Clarence Pasker; two sisters, Tillie Niehaus and Catherine Kruse; a sister-in-law, Sally Pasker; and two brothers-in-law, Walter Kruse and Clem Niehaus.
