Louise "Lou" Kirby, 79, of Canyon, Texas, formerly of Dubuque, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003, at home, surrounded by her husband and children.
Memorial services were held Nov. 29 at Brooks Chapel, Canyon. Memorial services also will be held at noon Friday, Jan. 9, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Dubuque. The Brooks Funeral Directors, Canyon, was in charge of arrangements.
She was born on Dec. 24, 1924, in North Buena Vista, Iowa, daughter of John and Bernadette (Brimeyer) Engling.
Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Harold; four children, Anita (Geoff) Bissett, of Brownfield, Texas, Jerry Kirby, of Atlanta, Texas, Dee Kirby, of Abilene, Texas, and Teena (Dennis) Hall, of Canyon; five brothers, Carl (Virginia), of Sioux City, Iowa, Ray (Mary Jo), of Freeport, Ill., Alfred (Mary), of Dubuque, Leon (Kathy), of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Donald (Alice), of White Water, Wis.; six sisters, Irene (Carl) Ruff, Marcie Travis, Theresa Huekels, Helen (Archie) Molzof, Joyce (Karl) Miller and Cindy Ohnesorge, all of Dubuque; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Jenny Engling, of Dubuque, and Shirley Hunefield, of Freeport.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Gerald and David.
Memorials may be given to BSA Hospice of Amarillo, Texas, and Hospice of Dubuque.
