Kevin P. Ross, 58, of Holy Cross, died Sunday, May 5, 2013, at the family cabin in Guttenberg.

Visitation was Friday, May 10, 2013, at Kramer Funeral Home in Holy Cross. Funeral services were Saturday, May 11, at the Kramer Funeral Home in Holy Cross, conducted by Rev. Raymond Burkle. Inurnment was Sunday, May 12, in Holy Cross Cemetery.

Kevin was born Sept. 20, 1954, in Holy Cross, the son of Duane "Pete" and Lois (Heiring) Ross. He started as a body man at McDermott Ford in Dyersville and through two ownership changes, Jack Kreeb and Dan Lynch, he worked as a mechanic and eventually became parts manager. He was currently parts manager at Herb Green Ford in Cascade.

He married Christine (Chris) Brimeyer on Oct. 15, 1976, in North Buena Vista. Together they raised one son, Andrew (Andy). They later divorced in 1998, and remained friends. He served on the Holy Cross Volunteer Fire Department as a fireman and as an Emergency Rescue Technician. He loved the river and boating, enjoyed playing guitar and other instruments, and enjoyed playing golf and pool. Over the years he was a member of some area bands including White Lies, Stonefield, Profile, Off-The-Wall and Hollow Creek.

Survivors include his son, Andy of Holy Cross; his ex-wife, Christine "Chris" Ross of Dubuque; siblings, Deborah (Carmen) Castillo of Moline, Ill., Steve (Deb) Ross of Farley, Cathy (Barney) Rohrer of Colorado Springs, Colo., Peggy (Dean) Hendricks of Oelwein, and a special friend, Kelly Crubaugh of Guttenberg.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
