Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Resurrection Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West, Iowa. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road, where there will be a parish scripture wake service at 3:30 p.m.

Mr. Bisanz was a chemist for more than 30 years at Midland Chemical in Dubuque, and Rochester (N.Y.) Germicide, retiring in 1990.

He was born on Aug. 8, 1927, in Dubuque, son of Carl and Lenore (Steimetz) Bisanz.

Carl graduated from Loras College in 1949.

He married Lela Graham on Oct. 22, 1949, at Nativity Catholic Church.

Surviving are his wife, Lela "Lee" Bisanz, of Dubuque; six children, Deb (David) Tschiggfrie, Donna Bisanz and Amy (Jon) Brachman, all of Dubuque, Diane (Bill) Backes, of Madison, Wis., Gary Bisanz, of Vernon Hills, Ill., and Ellen (Don) Kraus, of Paonia, Colo.; 13 grandchildren, Sarah and Jonathan Tschiggfrie, Chris, Eric and Brittany Backes, Keith Bisanz, Scott, Regina, Andrew, Ruth, Emily and Danny Brachman and Kailey Kraus; and a sister, Jean (Charles) Miller, of Dubuque.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a grandson, Joe Bisanz.

In lieu of flowers, a Carl J. Bisanz Memorial Fund has been established.
