Bernice E. Leslein, 91, of Dubuque, died at 4 a.m. Monday, Nov. 24, 2003, at Ennoble Manor Care Center.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Paul Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Robert Weinhold officiating. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Friends may call after 10 a.m. today at the church. The Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road, is in charge of arrangements.

She was born on May 31, 1912, in Graf, Iowa, daughter of William and Helene (Henniges) Leslein.

She graduated from the former Bayless Business College and worked in the office of A.Y. McDonald Mfg. Co. for 31 years.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Women's Club.

She enjoyed entertaining, traveling and playing cards. She took lifelong special delight in her nieces and nephews.

Bernice will be remembered for her zest for living and her unselfish devotion to others. She touched so many lives and hearts.

Surviving are a brother, Clarence (Shirley) Leslein, of Durango, Iowa; two sisters-in-law, Charlene Leslein, of Dubuque, and Charlotte Leslein, of Manchester, Iowa; and seven nieces and nephews, Janet (Dale) Miller, of Dubuque, Sandy (Ron) Jones, of Waterloo, Iowa, Pam (Dan) Mergen, of Frisco, Texas, Sharon (Bruce) Fischer, of Naperville, Ill., Jacque (Steve) Rasmussen, of Naples, Fla., Allen (Ellen) Leslein, of Hermosa Beach, Calif., and Dale (Lori) Leslein, of Durango.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Herbert, Albert and her twin brother, Leo Leslein.

Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society and Hospice of Dubuque.
