Roger Boleyn

Roger Boleyn, 73, of 1836 Ellis St., died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003, at home.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, where friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Entombment will be in Resurrection Garden Mausoleum at Mount Calvary Cemetery. The Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home, 1640 Main St., is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Boleyn worked with the city of Dubuque, retiring in 1988.

He was born on March 4, 1930, in Dubuque, son of John E. and Clara (Schmitt) Boleyn. He married Marie M. Klein on Oct. 17, 1960, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Dubuque.

He graduated from the former Loras Academy, Dubuque.

Roger enjoyed music, especially Guy Lombardo, and was an avid Hawkeye fan. He was very fond of the family dog, Desmond.

He was a member of St. Mary's Parish, their Holy Name Society and Teamsters Union Local 421.

Surviving are his wife, Marie; a daughter, Carol Boleyn, of Dubuque; three sisters, Lorraine Fitzgerald, of Norwalk, Calif., Mag McComish, of Dubuque, and Mary Genz, of Joliet, Ill.; two brothers, Ray (Jayne) Boleyn and Bob Boleyn, both of Dubuque; a sister-in-law, Mary Jane Boleyn, of Dubuque; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Helen Wise and Ethel Boleyn; and a brother, Allen "Bud" Boleyn.

The family requests no flowers. A Roger Boleyn Memorial Fund has been established.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Dubuque, and Sr. Donard, of St. Mary's Parish, for their care and concern.
