Mrs. Pearl R. Meyers, 75, of 2314 Washington St., died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2003, at home.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Dennis Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road, where there will be a parish Christian wake service at 6 p.m.

She was born on June 2, 1928, in Dubuque, daughter of Carl and Clara (Behnke) Jansen. She married Donald R. Meyers on Sept. 3, 1951, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Dubuque; he passed away on Nov. 12, 1997.

Pearl lived in Dubuque all of her life, and attended Dubuque Senior High School.

She was a housewife who enjoyed gardening and crocheting. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Surviving are three sons, Dave (Lynne) Meyers and Jerry (Julie) Meyers, both of Dubuque, and Ron (Susan) Meyers, of West Des Moines, Iowa; two daughters, Deb (Ed) Englehart, of Marshfield, Wis., and Janet (Dave) Banwarth, of Dubuque; a brother, Merlin "Butch" (Luann) Jansen, of Sherrill, Iowa; four sisters, Vi Klaas, of Dubuque, Evelyn (Harold "Ernie") Wurst, of Bloomington, Minn., Ellen Meehan, of Roseville, Calif., and Rosalind "Dee" (Dave) Bierie, of East Dubuque, Ill.; 14 grandchildren, Libby (fiance, Patrick Donovan) and Lisa Meyers, Kelly, Russell, Sarah and Emily Banwarth, Nick, Carl and Amber Meyers, Pam and Justin Hunt and Kevin, Caitlin and Colleen Meyers; a sister-in-law, Darlene Jansen, of Sherrill; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Lester and Norman Jansen.

The family requests no flowers. A Pearl R. Meyers Memorial Fund has been established by the family.

The family would like to express their thanks to Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque and staff, Hospice of Dubuque, and a special thanks to Dr. Thomas Schreiber for the excellent care extended to Pearl.
