Evelyn Louise Dillon, 90, of White Bear Lake, Minn., formerly of Dubuque, Orlando, Fla., and Davenport, Iowa, died at 6:15 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, 2003, at St. John's Hospital, White Bear Lake, after a brief illness.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Runge Funeral Home, Davenport, where friends may call after 10:30 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Dillon was a homemaker for most of her life, but did work at the Wonder Bread Bakery in Davenport for 18 years.

She was born on Sept. 14, 1913, in Davenport, daughter of John and Louise Gressman. She married Orville Dillon on June 9, 1934, in Muscatine, Iowa; he preceded her in death in 1956.

Evelyn moved to Orlando in the 1970s, and moved back to Dubuque in 1985 to be closer to her family. Evelyn spent the last two years at White Bear Lake Care Center.

She loved to cook and bake for her family. She loved caring for and spending time with her great-grandchildren.

Surviving are two sons, Ken (Judy) Dillon, of White Bear Lake, and Ron Dillon, of The Villages, Fla.; five grandchildren, Scott (Julie) Dillon, of Fremont, Neb., Becky (Ted) Stieber, of Dubuque, Doug (Julie) Dillon, of Lake Elmo, Minn., Steve Dillon, of White Bear Lake, and Brian Dillon, of Memphis, Tenn.; eight great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Rachael and Devan, all of Dubuque, Michael and Alyssa, both of Fremont, and Jordyn, Madelyn and Zachary, all of Lake Elmo; and a brother, Robert Gressman, of Milan, Ill.

She also was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Beverly; two brothers, John and Arnold Gressman; and three sisters, Leona Tubbs, Loretta Uchtdorff and Clevatine Donegan.

The family wishes to thank ManorCare Health Services, Luther Manor, Heritage Manor and Dr. Paulsen for their care over the years.
