FARLEY, Iowa - Mary Lee Simon, 82, of St. Charles, Ill., formerly of Farley, died at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2003, at Kindred Hospital, Sycamore, Ill.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Farley, with the Rev. Dennis Cain officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Farley. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Reiff Funeral Home, Farley, where there will be a wake service at 4:30 p.m.

Mrs. Simon worked at Wright College in Chicago for many years.

She was born on Feb. 13, 1921, in Troy, N.Y., daughter of Carl and Helen (Veale) Wagner. She married John M. Simon on June 16, 1945, at St. Sabina Church, Chicago; he preceded her in death on Aug. 17, 2000.

She received her education at St. Sabina Grade School, and was a graduate of Longwood Academy of Our Lady, Beverly, Ill. She also attended DePaul University in Illinois.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Parish in Farley, and a member of St. John Neumann Parish in St. Charles.

Surviving are a daughter, Elizabeth (James) Conro, of St. Charles; and four grandchildren, Laura (Jesse) Panke, Daniel Conro, Kevin Conro and Katie Conro.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Michael Wallace; a son, Robert J. Simon, on Aug. 3, 1997; and three brothers, Robert Wallace, James Wallace and Edward Wallace.

Memorials may be given to a charity of the donor's choice.
