Robert J. Meyer, 94, of 3579 Lisa Court passed away Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Rev. Alan Dietzenbach officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 6. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1640 Main St. is in charge of arrangements.

Bob was born March 19, 1918 in Dubuque, son of Martin and Laura Meyer. He married Rosemary Frommelt October 21, 1946 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Dubuque.

He was a WWII Veteran in the 34th Infantry Division.

He was a member of Holy Trinity parish and the American Legion Post 6.

Surviving are his wife, Rosemary, a daughter, Laura (Keith) Meyer-Nilles, of Dubuque; two granddaughters, Erika (Jeff) Nilles-Plumlee, of Lawrence, KA and Kirstin (Steve) Kunkel, of Perrysburg, Ohio; 5 great grandchildren; and a brother Marvin (Myrtle) Meyer, of Dubuque.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Vernon and Gene and a sister, Ruth Meyer. In lieu of flowers a R.J. Meyer Memorial has been established.
