Robert F. Sutter

Robert F. Sutter, 82, of Stonehill Care Center, formerly of 410 Valeria St., and 1086½ Main St., died at 11:05 a.m. Monday, Sept. 29, 2003, at the care center.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., where there will be a parish wake service at 5 p.m.

Mr. Sutter and his brothers owned and operated Sutter Bakery at 13th and Central in Dubuque for more than 40 years, retiring in 1983.

He was born on Dec. 4, 1920, in Dubuque, son of John and Anna (Turley) Sutter. He married Odelia Tegeler on Nov. 10, 1942, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Dubuque; she preceded him in death on Oct. 24, 1997.

He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

He enjoyed riding his 3-wheeled bike around town and the company of his dog, Blackie. Bob loved his family above all else and will be greatly missed.

Surviving are a daughter, Sheila (Vernon) Boge, of Dyersville, Iowa; four grandchildren, Joseph (Jane) Boge, Mary Ann (Michael) Nerney, Jeff (Angie) Boge and Lisa Boge; six great-grandchildren, Emily and Nicholas Boge, Amber and Austin Nerney, Georgeena Kalb and Ethan Boge; a sister-in-law, Cile Sutter, of Dubuque; and several nieces and nephews.

He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilfred Sutter and Thomas Sutter.

A Robert F. Sutter Memorial Fund has been established.
