Doris B. Fassl, 92, of Shady Rest Nursing Home, Cascade, Iowa, formerly of Dubuque, died at 3 a.m. Monday, Sept. 29, 2003, at the nursing home.

Chapel services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., Dubuque, where friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Dubuque Memorial Gardens, south of Dubuque.

She was born on May 8, 1911, in Dalhart, Texas, daughter of Theodore and Lillian (Potter) Anthony. She graduated from Dubuque Senior High School.

She married Wayne Tubbs, later married Morris Strater and was lastly married to Henry Fassl, all of whom preceded her in death.

Doris attended nurses training and worked as a nurse at Our Lady of Lourdes Convalescent Home.

She loved animals and cared for horses, ducks, geese, pheasants and chickens on the acreage near Swiss Valley. She also enjoyed gardening.

Surviving are a sister, Diane (Dick) Doubraus, of San Jose, Calif.; a brother, Jerry Anthony, of Phoenix, Ariz.; and nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by a son, Wayne M. Tubbs, on July 11, 2001, and a brother, Wayne Anthony.

A Doris B. Fassl Memorial Fund has been established.
