Jean C. Kennedy, 61, of Sunnycrest Manor, Dubuque, and formerly of Epworth, Iowa, died at 2:20 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2003, at The Finley Hospital, Dubuque.

Graveside services and burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Highview Cemetery, Epworth. There will be no public visitation. The Reiff Funeral Home, Epworth, is in charge of arrangements.

She was born on Aug. 5, 1942, in Dubuque, daughter of Kenneth and Evelyn (Dykeman) Kennedy.

She was a graduate of Epworth High School and attended Northeast Iowa Community College, Peosta.

Jean did baby-sitting and was then employed as a certified nursing assistant at Ennoble Manor Care Center and later for Key Home Care.

She was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church, where she was past president of the Women's Society, former District United Methodist Women's Officer, former church board member and District Board member. She also served as a Lay Minister and Conference Society Lay speaker.

Surviving are two brothers, Ronald Kennedy, of Kankakee, Ill., and Larry Kennedy, of Epworth.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
