PEOSTA, Iowa - Catherine A. Driscoll, 75, of 7931 Olde Highway Road, Centralia, died at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2003, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Peosta, with the Rev. Richard Kuhn officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Fillmore. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home, Epworth, where there will be a rosary at 7 p.m.
She was born on Nov. 5, 1927, in Worthington, daughter of Herman and Ann (Gravel) Fischer. She married Merlin E. Driscoll on April 4, 1945, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Garryowen, rural Bernard; he preceded her in death on June 27, 1998.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Peosta.
She loved baking, especially bread and homemade apple pies. She greatly enjoyed the daily companionship of her two dogs, Teekee and Buddy.
Surviving are five sons, James (MaryJo) Driscoll, of Graf, Mike (Sheila) Driscoll, of Cascade, Dennis (Gwen) Driscoll and Steve (Jennifer) Driscoll, both of Epworth, and Jason (Kelly) Driscoll, of Anamosa; four daughters, Barb (Mel) Ernzen, of Epworth, Marilyn (Robert) Heller, of Peosta, Janice Koob, of Cascade, and Christine (Dean) Schrader, of Monticello; and 33 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, John and Dennis, in infancy; a daughter, Sharon Johnson, on May 11, 1982; a son-in-law, Martin Strief, on Aug. 23, 1996; a great-grandson, Thaddeus Ernzen; a great-granddaughter, Hope Marie Driscoll-Hebgen; a sister; and two brothers.
A Catherine A. Driscoll Memorial Fund has been established.
