Mrs. John A. (Michaelann "Mitze") Montag, 39, of 625 Rhomberg Ave., died at 8:06 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, at home, of an apparent heart condition.

Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Mueller Memorial Chapel at Linwood Cemetery. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St.

Mrs. Montag worked as a prep cook at Applebee's.

She was born on Aug. 26, 1963, in Dubuque, daughter of Leslie L. and Gloria J. (Wilson) Potter. She married John A. Montag on Feb. 26, 1986, in Dubuque.

She enjoyed making beaded jewelry and liked to go camping. She was an avid movie buff and liked to talk about the movies. She especially enjoyed gathering with her family and friends.

Surviving are her husband, John A. Montag; a daughter, Lesley A. (Justin) Potter McLaughlin; a son, Ezekiel R. Montag, at home; three stepdaughters, Madonna Towne and Regina Pearson, both of Prairie du Chien, Wis., and Sarah Horn, of Winona, Iowa; four grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Frances Gay, of Dubuque; a brother, Kevin J. Potter, of Dubuque; a sister-in-law, Jennie Potter, of Dubuque; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Iam John Michael Montag, on April 22, 1994; a sister, Leslie Marie Potter, in infancy; and two brothers, Daniel M. Potter and David W. Potter.

A Michaelann Montag Memorial Fund has been established.
