CASCADE, Iowa - Irene A. Hosch, 81, of 808 Fourth Ave. SW, Cascade, died Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, at home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Martin's Catholic Church, Cascade, with the Rev. Daniel Krapfl officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Cascade. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Reiff Funeral Home, Cascade, where there will be a Catholic Daughters of the Americas rosary at 4:30 p.m., and a wake service at 5:30 p.m.

She was born on Sept. 15, 1921, in Budder Township in Prairieburg, daughter of Matt and Frances (Marek) Holub. She married Harold Hosch on Sept. 10, 1947, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Monticello.

She received her education in the rural Prairieburg schools.

She was a member of St. Matthias Catholic Church, Cascade, and the Cascade Catholic Daughters of the Americas-Our Blessed Mother Court 1926.

Surviving are her husband, Harold Hosch, of Cascade; six children, Dianne (Joe) Roberts, of San Jose, Calif., Jane (Gary) Little, of Dublin, Ohio, Denise (Cliff) Smoluch, of Scottsdale, Ariz., Richard (Sue) Hosch and Ron Hosch, both of Cascade, and Kevin (Susan) Hosch, of Monticello; 10 grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and a sister, Clara (Lewis) Weber, of Prairieburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter-in- law, Jodi Hosch, on Aug. 3, 2003; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Frances and Tom Wilgenbusch and Lenora and Laverne Husmann.

Memorials may be given to Hospice of Dubuque.
