SHERRILL, Iowa -- Barbara J. Lovik, 65, of 19969 Durango Road, Sherrill, died Friday, Aug. 8, 2003, at home.

Services will be at noon Tuesday at Grace United Methodist Church, with burial in Oakwood Cemetery, both in Floyd. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road, Dubuque, and after 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

Mrs. Lovik spent more than 20 years as a teaching associate for the Dubuque Community School District. She also was a volunteer Girl Scout leader and worked with Boy Scout Troops 68 and 94.

She was born on July 15, 1938, in Charles City, daughter of Lawrence and Annette (Carroll) Krumrey. She married Harley Lovik on July 27, 1957, in Charles City.

She had been a longtime member of the Sherrill United Methodist Church.

Barbara enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. She touched many lives and will be greatly missed all who knew and loved her.

Surviving are her mother and stepfather, Annette and Willis Smith, of Charles City; her husband, Harley Lovik, of Sherrill; two daughters, Debra (Terry) Simpson, of Loveland, Colo., and Diane "Dee" Anderson, of Orlando, Fla.; a son, Dana "Bear" Lovik, of Orlando; five grandchildren, Molly (Tim) Murphy-Beecher, Christy Murphy, Caressa and Olivia Anderson and Talon Simpson; a brother, Robert (Kathy) Krumrey, of Charles City; and a sister, Linda (Merlin) Litterer, of Greene.

She was preceded in death by her father.

A Barbara J. Lovik Memorial Fund has been established.
