Eileen T. Heiberger

EPWORTH, Iowa -- Eileen T. Heiberger, 66, of 525 Washington St., Epworth, died a peaceful death, surrounded by her family, at 2 a.m. Thursday, July 24, 2003, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Epworth, with the Rev. Joseph McDermott, SVD, officiating and Deacon James Kean assisting. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home, Epworth, where there will be a wake service at 5 p.m., and the Epworth and Farley Fire Departments will meet as a body at 7 p.m. Friends also may call after 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Heiberger drove a school bus for the Western Dubuque schools for 21 years.

She was born on April 4, 1937, in Holy Cross, daughter of Raymond and Katherine (Wagner) Errthum. On June 24, 1958, she married John B. Heiberger at Holy Cross (Iowa) Catholic Church.

She graduated from the former Holy Cross High School. She was a member of St. Patrick's Parish in Epworth, and a member of its Rosary Society.

Eileen enjoyed working in her flower gardens and spending time with her family.

Surviving are her husband, John Heiberger, of Epworth; six daughters, Annette (Michael) Meeker and Amy (Keith) Hartman, both of Epworth, Ann (Brian) Maiers, of Holy Cross, Christine (Dave) West, of Eldridge, Lynn (Chad) Vaske, of Farley, and Sara (Jesse) Brennan, of Hiawatha; two sons, Allen (Kay) Heiberger, of Farley, and Michael (Kristin) Heiberger, of Epworth; 15 grandchildren, Abbie Heiberger, Austin and Alyssa Meeker, Ashley, Taylor and Evan Hartman, Luke, Joseph and Daniel Maiers, Janey, Jack and Owen West, Ben Heiberger and Erin and Nathan Vaske; a brother, Francis (Marilyn) Errthum, of Guttenberg; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Sylvester and Rosemary Pins, of New Vienna, Emmett and Elaine Klein, of Dubuque, and Celestine and Eleanor Sigwarth, of Balltown.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her father and mother-in-law, Ben and Kathleen Heiberger.

An Eileen T. Heiberger Memorial Fund has been established.
