Josephine A. "Jo" Rellihan, 88, of Stonehill Care Center, Dubuque, formerly of 359 Apple St., East Dubuque, Ill., died at 11 p.m. Monday, July 14, 2003, at the center.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Church, East Dubuque. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Dubuque. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Miller Funeral Home, East Dubuque, where there will be a parish scripture service at 7:45 p.m.

Mrs. Rellihan was a homemaker and formerly a seamstress for Roshek's and Armstrong's Department Stores.

She was born on Aug. 10, 1914, in Dubuque, daughter of Christian F. and Mary Catherine (Stecher) Koester. She married Donald J. "Scoop" Rellihan on Sept. 11, 1937, at Sacred Heart Church, Dubuque.

She was a member of St. Mary's Parish and its Altar and Rosary Society. She was a charter member of the Catholic Mothers Study Club, of Dubuque.

Scoop and Jo lived in East Dubuque for many years. She enjoyed her neighbors very much and was a friend and helper to everyone. She also had become friends with many of the residents at Stonehill.

Surviving are two daughters, Mary Jo (Tom) Yates, of Davenport, Iowa, and Paula (Mark) Zupancich, of Grand Haven, Mich.; three sons, Daniel J. (Joanne) Rellihan and Timothy J. (Ann) Rellihan, both of Dubuque, and Todd J. Rellihan, of Rainbow Ridge, Galena, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Rita (Norb) Rosemeyer, of Stonehill Care Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald J. "Scoop" Rellihan, on Feb. 13, 2002; her parents; three sisters, Lillian Hutton, Mary Collins and Kaye Johanningmeier; and three brothers, Al, Walter and Arnold Koester.

Memorials may be given to Rainbow Ridge, Galena, and Stonehill Care Center.
