Leah (Runde) Walker, 82, of San Diego, formerly of East Dubuque, Ill., and Dubuque, died Saturday, July 12, 2003, in San Diego.

Services will be in San Diego. Burial will be in El Cameno Memorial Park, San Diego. Information was provided by Miller Funeral Home, East Dubuque.

Mrs. Walker formerly operated a dance studio in San Diego for many years.

She was born on June 9, 1921, in East Dubuque, daughter of Ed and Viola (Hesseling) Runde. She married Owen Walker on May 5, 1943, at Mary Star of the Sea Church, La Jolla, Calif. He died in 1994.

Surviving are five children, Ellen Anderson, of Ramona, Calif., Bill Walker, of San Francisco, John Walker and Joan Hansen, both of San Diego, and Doug Walker, of Arizona; and numerous grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson; and two brothers, Dorrance Runde and Harold "Barney" Runde.
