Sister Maryanne (Mary St. Donald) McSweeney, BVM, 84, of Caritas Center, 1130 Carmel Drive, Dubuque, died at 9:35 p.m. Sunday, July 13, 2003, at Caritas Center.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Marian Hall Chapel. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the chapel, where there will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. The Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, is in charge of arrangements.
Sister Maryanne was an elementary and secondary school music teacher in Kansas City and St. Louis, Mo.; Pontiac, Chicago and Lincoln, Ill.; Phoenix; and Mason City, Iowa.
She was born on March 8, 1919, in Chicago, daughter of Donald and Mary Teresa (Buckley) McSweeney.
She made her first profession of religious vows on March 19, 1940, and her final profession on Aug. 15, 1945.
Surviving are the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, with whom she shared life for 65 years.
Memorials may be given to the Sisters of Charity BVM Retirement Fund.
