Deceased Name: ALVINA J. BRIMEYER

DYERSVILLE, Iowa - Services for Mrs. Alvina J. Brimeyer, 81, of Dyersville, will be at 10:30 a.m. today at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville.

Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Brimeyer was born on July 18, 1915, in Holy Cross, daughter of Leo and Sophia (Oberbroeckling) Ellerbach. She died Saturday, Nov. 16, 1996, at Mercy Health Center St. Joseph's Unit, Dubuque, from complications of a fall at home.

She married Raymond J. Brimeyer on May 24, 1938, in Holy Cross.

She was a homemaker and a child care provider.

Surviving are her husband, Raymond; seven daughters, Patricia Lange and Mary Lou (Roger) Meyer, both of Dubuque, Joanne (Tom) Oberbroeckling, Judy (Richard J.) Boeckenstedt and Karen (Tom) Turner, all of Dyersville, Darlene (Larry) Boeckenstedt, of New Vienna, and Marlene (Jerome L.) Errthum, of Sherrill; two sons, Ken (Dottie), of Dubuque, and Steve (Bonnie), of Farley; 28 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Agatha Roling, of Dubuque, and Loretta Henkels, Marcella Roling and Emma Schultz, all of Holy Cross; two brothers, Ray Ellerbach, of Holy Cross, and Francis (Rosie) Ellerbach, of Dubuque; and four sisters-in-law, Gladys, Lillian and Selena Brimeyer, all of Dubuque, and Orvelyn Brimeyer, of Holy Cross.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy, in 1977; a granddaughter, Anne Marie Meyer, in 1993; and two sons-in-law, Clark Lange, in 1992, and Virgil Hoeger, in 1963.

Alvina was a loving wife, mother and friend to all who knew her. She was the foundation and inspiration of our family with her unending strength, faith, courage and unconditional love for us all. She taught us to never give up and to always look on the bright side.

Her favorite saying was "God's ways are not our ways; what is, is." She will be sadly missed by all.

An Alvina Brimeyer Memorial Fund has been established.
