CASCADE, Iowa - Patti L. (Wolfe) Fortney, 55, of 912 7th Ave. SE, Cascade, died at 5:10 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2003, at The Finley Hospital, Dubuque, after a short battle with cancer.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Martin's Catholic Church, Cascade, with the Rev. Daniel Krapfl officiating and Monsignor Albert Manternach concelebrating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Cascade. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home, Cascade, where there will be a wake service at 4:30 p.m.

Mrs. Fortney worked as a waitress at Grandma's Kitchen in Cascade.

She was born on March 17, 1948, in Monticello, daughter of Leon and Celestine "Sally" (Manternach) Wolfe. She married Gary Fortney on Sept. 29, 1995, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Temple Hill.

She received her education at the former St. Mary's School and was a graduate of the former Aquin High School, both in Cascade. She was a member of St. Matthias Parish, Cascade.

Patti dedicated her life to her family, she was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was a friend to all who met her.

Surviving are her husband, Gary Fortney, of Cascade; two sons, Kevin (Janet) Felton and Brian Felton, both of Cascade; two stepsons, Jesse (Carrie) Fortney, of Hiawatha, and Jason (Wendy) Fortney, of Clinton; her mother, Celestine "Sally" Neyens, of Cascade; four grandchildren, Mae and Libby Felton and Tyler and Tanner Felton; five step grandchildren, Lauren, Alexander, Anthony, Jessica and Troy Fortney; two sisters, Judy (Norman) Kremer and Lori "Pris" (Merl) Koppes, both of Cascade; and three brothers, Steve (Vicki) Wolfe, of Mason City, and Gary "Baldy" (Amy) Wolfe and Charles "Chuck" (Dawn) Neyens, both of Cascade.

She was preceded in death by her father, Leon Wolfe, on Jan. 6, 1956; and her stepfather, George J. "Whitey" Neyens.
