CASCADE, IOWA - Emma G. Kremer, 91, of 413 Third Ave. SE, Cascade, died at 1:05 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2003, at Shady Rest Care Center, Cascade.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Martin's Catholic Church, Cascade, with the Rev. Daniel Krapfl officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Cascade. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home, Cascade, where there will be a Cascade American Legion Auxiliary service at 3:30 p.m., and a wake service at 7 p.m.

She was born on July 11, 1911, in Cascade, daughter of Charles and Gertrude (Shaffer) Oeschger. She received her education at the former St. Martin's School, Cascade.

She married Leo Kremer on Aug. 25, 1931, at St. Martin's Catholic Church, Cascade; he preceded her in death on June 13, 1998.

Emma enjoyed playing cards and working crossword puzzles. Emma was a member of St. Matthias Parish, Cascade, the Cascade Senior Citizen's Club and the Cascade American Legion Auxiliary.

Surviving are three children, Gertrude C. (Tony) Sieverding and Charles L. Kremer, both of Cascade, and Lucille E. (Gerald) Smith, of Dubuque; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; and 17 step great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Mary Kremer, in infancy; two grandsons, Danny and Dale Sadler; a great-granddaughter, Ashley Smith; four brothers, Vincent, Tom, Paul and John Oeschger; and four sisters, Loretta Pollack, Helen Gavin and Clara and Louise Oeschger.

An Emma G. Kremer Memorial Fund has been established.
