Leone Isabelle (Boble) Gardner, 91, of Kansas City, Mo., formerly of Dubuque, passed away Thursday, July 3, 2003, at North Kansas City Hospital.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Church, Kansas City, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

She was born on Oct. 28, 1911, in Dubuque. She had lived in the Kansas City area since 1944.

She married Linus J. Gardner in 1939; he preceded her in death in 1993, after 54 years of marriage.

She was a member of St. Elizabeth Parish for more than 55 years, a member of Catholic Women's Club and an Oblate of St. Benedict, Conception, Mo.

Surviving are three sons, Gerald F. Gardner and Joseph W. Gardner, both of Kansas City, and Dr. Michael J. Gardner, of Adrian, Mo.; five grandchildren, Matthew, Andrew and Collen Gardner, of Kansas City, Rachelle Gardner, of Adrian, and Dr. Michelle Cahill, of Joplin; four great-grandchildren, Austin Gardner, Madilyn and Halle Gardner, of Kansas City, and William Cahill, of Joplin; and four sisters, Lorraine Phillips, of Ann Arbor, Mich., Dorothy Lord, of St. Louis, and Margaret Wertz and Helen Griffin, both of Dubuque.

She also was preceded in death by a sister, Florence Miller.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Elizabeth Education Fund and the Benedictine Sisters of Clyde, Mo.
