Friday morning John Dunn, who had been sick for several months, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. L.J. Murphy of this city. His remains were taken to Bankston, Dubuque county, Friday evening, where they were interred on Sunday.

The deceased was a native of Cork, Ireland. He spent the greater part of his life in Dubuque county, where he owned and cultivated a large farm. Eleven years ago his wife died and he came to this city about four years ago to spend his declining years with his daughters. He was a very mild, unassuming old gentleman and he enjoyed the respect of those who knew him. His daughters are among the best people of this community and his only son, Thomas Dunn, is a member of the board of supervisors of Dubuque county. He was 84 years of age.
