Gloria C. Spensley, 85, formerly of 724 Ramona St., died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011, at ManorCare Health Services.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, at Siegert-Casper Colonial Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 390 N. Grandview Ave., with the Rev. Gabrielle Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West, Iowa. Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
She was born on Aug. 7, 1925, in Davenport, daughter of John and Florence (Wendt) Baker. She lived most of her life in Dubuque.
She married Russell E. Spensley on Feb. 2, 1947, in Dubuque; he preceded her in death in 1973.
Gloria was a sales clerk at Younkers for 25 years and was a member of St. Columbkille's Catholic Church.
Surviving are her children, Russell (Sandra) Spensley, Richard Spensley and Carol Judge, all of Dubuque; her granddaughter, Cortney (Nate) Kieffer; her great-grandsons, Jackson and Colin Kieffer; and several nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by her parents.
A Gloria Spensley Memorial Fund has been established.
