Mr. Richard R. "Dick" Wemett, 43, of 2525 Willow Brook Drive, Asbury, Iowa, formerly of 3050 Shiras Ave., Dubuque, died at 10:10 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2003, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque, as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident near the intersection of Seippel and Asbury roads.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Dennis Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road, where there will be a Holy Trinity Catholic Church Parish Christian wake service at 2 p.m.

Mr. Wemett most recently worked as a regional route supervisor for Old Dutch Potato Chip Co. Prior to that, he worked at Eagle Supermarket for 20 years.

He was born on March 8, 1960, in Dubuque, son of D. Richard and Patricia (Riley) Wemett. He married Teresa M. Mulert on Aug. 31, 1985, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Dubuque.

He grew up in Dubuque, and was a 1978 graduate of Stephen Hempstead High School.

He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, where he was very active in the Christian Experience Weekend program and Fall Festival.

He was a devoted husband and wonderful father and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.

Surviving are his wife, Teresa M. (Mulert) Wemett; two daughters, Caitlin and Hannah Wemett, both at home; his mother, Patricia K. Wemett, of Dubuque; three brothers, Dan (Tracy) Wemett, of East Dubuque, Ill., Dennis (Karen) Wemett, of Dubuque, and Don Wemett, of Kenosha, Wis.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, D. Richard "Dick" Wemett, on Dec. 28, 1992.

The family requests no flowers. A Richard R. "Dick" Wemett Memorial Fund has been established by his family.
