Mrs. Leo B. (Mary A.) Ament, age 86, of Worthington, Iowa died Friday, January 1, 1987 at Mercy Hospital, St.Joseph's. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday January 4 at St.Paul's Church with burial in the church cemetery. Fathers James Blocklinger, Richard Ament, Richard Maichen, Donald Peters, Robert Ament, Edgar Kurt, Al Manternach, and Msgr. Ernest Ament officiating. Kramer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were George Ament, Gerald Baum, Cy Pins, Robert Gudenkauf, Louis Smith, and Tom Feldmann. Honorary pallbearers representing the Altar Society were Loretta Ament, Thelma White, Ida Engler, Calista Pottebaum, Celeste Kramer, and Isabel Kroeger.

Mary was born August 19, 1901 in Beatrice, Nebraska to William and Elizabeth (Garrity) Grace. She lived most of her life in the Worthington area. On September 8, 1924 she married Leo Ament in Cascade, Iowa.

Survivors include her husband, 4 sons, Donald Ament of Urbandale, Iowa, Leo Ament of Lake Zurich, Illinois, Leonard Ament of Decorah, Iowa, and Wilfred of Ament of Waukon, Iowa; 2 daughters, Grace (Mrs. John Kagel) of Bellevue, Iowa, and Pauline, Mrs. Richard Guise of East Moline, Illinois; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Weber of Garden Grove, California.
