Gloria Jean Treanor, 72, of 11592 Robin Hood Drive, died Monday, May 12, 2003, at home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home, 1640 Main St., with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West, Iowa. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Treanor worked in the Dubuque School System at Dubuque Senior High School for 17 years, retiring in 1993.

She was born on Nov. 10, 1930, in Dubuque, daughter of John and Hazel (Lang) Grogan. She married Donald C. "Mud" Treanor on June 30, 1951, in Dubuque.

She graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 1948. She enjoyed spending time with her family, camping in Northern Wisconsin and fishing. Gloria took great pride in her roses and her flower garden. She loved crossword puzzles and had a special love for animals.

Surviving are her husband, Donald C. "Mud" Treanor, of Dubuque; seven children, Michael (Donna) Treanor, of Fort Meyers, Fla., Barbara Treanor, of Freeport, Ill., Jeff Treanor, Jim (Nan) Treanor and Mark (Diane) Treanor, all of Dubuque, Kathy Maas, of Bernard, Iowa, and Kim Treanor, of Dubuque; 10 grandchildren, Kari, Edmund, Adam, Danielle, Emily, Jackie, Kylie, Amanda, Racheal and Alayna; a great-grandchild, Markie; a brother, Donald Grogan, of Dubuque; and a special family pet, Nieka.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and an infant sister, Kathleen.

A Gloria J. Treanor Memorial Fund has been established.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Garrett Ridgley, Dr. David Zenk, and the staff of the Wendt Regional Cancer Center at The Finley Hospital, and Hospice of Dubuque for the wonderful care they extended to Gloria.
