Lester W. Selle died January 1, 1989 at the Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital, Wisconsin. He was born June 9, 1903 in Dubuque, Iowa to Herman and Mary (Schmidt) Selle. The body of Lester Selle was cremated and no memorial services were held. Local arrangements were made at Schultz Funeral Home, Monona, Iowa.

On January 10, 1925 he married Jewell Margaret Eilers in Galena, Illinois. Lester worked for A.Y. McDonald Mfg. Co. in Dubuque, Iowa until retiring in 1953. He bought a tavern and grocery store in Clayton Center, Iowa which he owned until 1963. The couple moved to Tucson, Arizona. He returned to live in Monona in 1984.

Preceding him in death was his wife who died August 25, 1984; a sister who died in infancy and one brother Harry Selle. Surviving is one brother, Horace Selle of Dubuque, Iowa and nieces and nephews.
