Stella Mary Krug

Stella Mary Krug, 92, of 3617 Crescent Ridge, formerly of Durango, Iowa, passed away at 8:35 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010, at Heritage Manor.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 27, at Resurrection Catholic Church. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 26, at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., where there will be a parish wake service at 3 p.m.

She was born on June 12, 1918, in Holy Cross, Iowa, daughter of Michael and Catherine (Neumann) Ruden. She married Peter A. Krug on April 18, 1938, at the Holy Cross (Iowa) Catholic Church; he preceded her in death on Nov. 30, 1983. They farmed in Asbury and Durango until Dec. 1, 1979, when they moved to Dubuque.

Stella enjoyed family get-togethers, bingo and playing cards, especially euchre.

Surviving are four children, Donald J. (Denise) Krug, of Dubuque, Carol A. (Jim) Kluesner, of Farley, Iowa, and Donna M. Krug and Vicki A. Krug, both of Dubuque; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gertrude Ruden and Rosie Jasper, both of Dubuque; two sisters-in-law, Veronica Krug and Ann Krug, both of Dubuque; and nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by a son, James, in infancy; a daughter, Joan Krug; a granddaughter, Cynthia Krug; two grandsons, Robert and Gerald Kluesner; a great-granddaughter, Christian Kluesner; a great-grandson, Carson Krug; a great-great-granddaughter, Kylie Bricker; three sisters and their spouses, Marie (Clarence) Schmal, Barbara (Leonard) Backes and Catherine (Alfred "Fritz") Krug; a brother, Frank Ruden; and a brother-in-law, Don Jasper.

Memorials may be given to the Church of the Resurrection, 4300 Asbury Road, Dubuque, Iowa 52002.
