She was born Dorothy Jeanne Adams in Memphis, Tenn., on Feb. 26, 1928, daughter of Adam (Cismoski) and Dorothy (Kellams) Adams. She lived in Hammond, Ind., Pine Bluff, Ark. and Chicago and Elmhurst, IL, while growing up.

She attended Immaculate Conception grade school and high school in Elmhurst, graduating in 1945, and in 1947, she left and married Cletus "Barney" Golinvaux. They had 11 children. They divorced in 1976. She re-entered Clarke College and graduated in 1979, with a bachelor of arts degree in sociology.

She was the first paid director of volunteer services at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque. While there, she developed many new programs for volunteers.

While raising her family, she was active as a Boy Scouts den leader, Girl Scouts camping leader, a Colts Drum and Bugle Corps Booster Club volunteer and was a member of the Clarke College Alumna Association.

In 1981, she married George Hoehn, of Buffalo, N. Y., and they moved to Albuquerque, N. M.

She was subsequently able to enjoy her love of nature by working at Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming, and Big Bend National Park in Texas.

Upon returning to Dubuque, she volunteered and worked at St. Anthony's School and for the Sisters of St. Francis. She also joined the Mississippi Trails Hiking Club, where she was an active member until falling victim to a stroke in 1994.

She had a happy and fulfilling life at Stonehill, leading the daily rosary, writing articles for the monthly newsletter, playing bridge and taking part in the daily activities.

She is survived by seven daughters, Leanne Golinvaux and Ellen Golinvaux, both of Dubuque, Laura Waugh, of Redding, Calif., Linda (Craig) Loftin, of New York, Liz (Ron) Ferguson, of Woodlawn, Va., Denise (Rich) Reppen, of Baraboo, Wis., and Michele (Jeff) Pins, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; three sons, Rick (Renee), of Prior Lake, Minn., Chuck (Nichole), of Spearfish, S.
