Bernadine M. "Micki" Ackley, 67, of 2709 Ventura Drive, Apt. 5, died Friday, Nov. 17, 2006, at The Finley Hospital, Dubuque.

Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral home, 3860 Asbury Road. There will be no public service.

Mrs. Ackley was employed at Flexsteel Industries, in the metal division.

She was born on March 25, 1939, in Dickeyville, Wis., daughter of Arthur and Bertha (Fure') Brandt. She married Kenneth Ackley on Oct. 16, 1965, in Rock Island, IL.

Bernadine loved Arabian Horses, and was a member of the American Arabian Association. She also enjoyed fishing, needlepoint and playing poker.

Surviving are her husband, Kenneth Ackley, of Dubuque; a daughter, Roxanne (Jim) Heiderscheit, of Epworth, Iowa; and a granddaughter, Shelby. She is also survived by three sisters, Rita (Robert) Hartung, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Darlene (Ralph) Kunkel, of Keiler, Wis., and Patricia (Tom) Mitchley, of Dubuque; and six nieces and nephews, Tyrone (Kim) Hartung and their son Ethan, Tammy Hartung, Vickie Kunkel, Terry Kunkel, Jennifer Smith and Danielle Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Marilyn Robins.
