Burton W. Boyes

Services for Burton W. "Burt" Boyes, 74, 4100 Peru Road, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Dennis Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road.

Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Boyes was in partnership with his brother, Milton F. Boyes, in the operation of Boyes Auto & Truck Wrecking Co. Inc. from 1945 until Milton's death on April 12, 1969. Since then, he has owned and was president of the company.

He was born on May 9, 1918, in Dubuque, son of Fred and Barbara (Bauer) Boyes. He died at 12:30 p.m. Monday, March 1, 1993, at The Finley Hospital.

He married Rosemary Schlampp on June 28, 1941, at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, Dubuque; she survives.

He grew up in Dubuque. He was a member of the Lord of Life Lutheran Church, Asbury, Iowa, and the Iowa Automotive and Dismantlers Recyclers Association.

Also surviving are two sons, William B. "Bill" (and Carol) and Fred J. (and Kim), both of Dubuque; a daughter, Mabel B. Valentine, of Denison, Texas; and nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Stefanie Ann Boyes, on June 14, 1972.
