Frederick H. Jackson

EAST DUBUQUE, Ill. -- Services for Frederick H. Jackson, 57, 16000 Pleasant View, East Dubuque, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Nativity BVM Catholic Church, Menominee.

Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. today at Miller Funeral Home, 1185 Route 35 North, East Dubuque, where there will be a parish wake service at 7:30 p.m.

Mr. Jackson was the owner and president of Jackson Tuckpointing Co., Dubuque.

He was born on April 2, 1937, in Dubuque, son of George R. and Thelma (Stark) Jackson. He died at 8:45 a.m. Friday, April 8, 1994, at home.

He married Joan Koenig on Dec. 29, 1956, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Dubuque.

He was a Menominee Township road commissioner, and a retired member and former fire chief of the Menominee Dunleith Volunteer Fire Department. He was a charter and former member of the Galena-area ambulance board. He was a village clerk and former trustee for the Village of Menominee. He was a licensed private pilot, a past secretary and treasurer of the Jo Daviess County Road Commissoners' Association, and a member of the Dubuque Area Chamber of Commerce.

Surviving are his wife, Joan Jackson; three daughters, Mrs. Ed (Debi) Tranel, of East Dubuque, Ann Jackson, of Dubuque, and Mrs. Roger (Chris) Bartels, of Potosi, Wis.; three sons, Kelly G. (Debbie) Jackson, of East Dubuque, Dane F. (Joyce) Jackson, of Menominee, and Sam R. Jackson, of Dubuque, 10 grandchildren; and two brothers, Alan (Patricia) Jackson and Terry Jackson, both of St. Catherine, Iowa.
