Frank J. Carner

Frank James "Frankie" Carner, 38, 1668 Washington St., died Thursday morning, Jan. 23, 1997, at The Finley Hospital.

Joint services for Mr. Carner and his grandmother, Delilah E. Hines, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home, 1640 Main St., where friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery.

Mr. Carner was employed by Blum Salvage for the past 20 years.

He was born on Nov. 14, 1958, in Dubuque, son of Richard T. and Nora D. (Hines) Carner, Sr.

Frankie graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 1975. He enjoyed working on cars in his free time and lifting weights.

Surviving are his mother, Nora D. Carner, of Dubuque; eight brothers, Richard T. (Sharon) Carner, Jim J. (Kathy) Carner, Rick R. (Julie) Carner, David (Sue) Carner, Gary Carner, Dennis Carner, Robin Carner and Scott Carner, all of Dubuque; five sisters, Dixie M. (Dale) Lyons, Betty L. (Robert Sr.) Young, Genevieve (Francis Sr.) Marshall, Terry (Donald) Krier and Judy A. (Dennis Sr.) Heiderscheit, all of Dubuque; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard T. Carner, in 1969; a brother, Robert Eugene Carner in 1952; and his maternal grandmother, Delilah E. Hines, on Jan. 23, 1997
