Minor J. Maas

Services for Minor J. Maas, 65, of 1395 Isborn Ave. will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Church.

Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at the Egelhof-Casper-Strueber Funeral Home, 1145 Locust St., where the wake service will be said at 7:30 p.m.

Mr. Maas farmed in Graf, Iowa, for several years, after which he became self-employed.

He was born on March 11, 1924, in Dubuque. He died at 8:50 p.m. Sunday, June 18, 1989, at Mercy Health Center St. Joseph's Unit.

He married Helen Becker; she died on Aug. 28, 1961. He married Betty Cornell; she died on July 7, 1982.

Surviving are four sons, Tim, Rod and Donald, all of Dubuque, and Pvt 1st Class Jeff of South Carolina; nine daughters, Joyce, Shelly, Barb (Mrs. Dale Jasper) and Lonnie (Mrs. Mike Hanson), all of Dubuque, Sandy (Mrs. John Werner) of East Dubuque, IL., Mrs. Kathy Holzer of Platteville, Wis., Geraldine (Mrs. Raymond Eversol) of Rockford, IL., and Sue (Mrs. Dave Knapp) and Bev (Mrs. Thomas Budworth), both of Lancaster, Wis.; 11 stepchildren; 52 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; a brother, Clifton, of Dubuque; and two sisters, Myrtle (Mrs. Thomas Valentine) and Mrs. Elizabeth Lau, both of Cassville, Wis.

He was preceded in death by a son, Minor Maas Jr., on J_____ 15, 1969.
