BERNARD, Iowa -- Steven Patrick Rea, 38, of Lisbon, Portugal, formerly of Bernard, died Tuesday, May 6, 2003 in Lisbon, of a sudden illness

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Fillmore, with the Rev. Dennis Colter, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, Dubuque.

He was born on June 11, 1964, in Dubuque, son of Patrick J. and Ruth A. (Kieler) Rea.

He graduated from Cascade High School in 1982, and from Loras College, Dubuque, in 1986.

He was employed by Computer Science Corp. (CSC) in Lisbon.

Surviving are his parents, Patrick J. and Ruth A. Rea, of Bernard; three sisters, Suellen (John) Lathrum, of Johnston, Carolyn (Bryon) Kelchen, of Cascade, and Sharon Rea, of Peosta; nieces and nephews, Andrew and Megan Kelchen, and Daniel, Katie and Joseph Lathrum.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Oliver and Florence Rea and Lillard Kieler and Hazel Kieler Meyer.

A Steven Patrick Rea Memorial Fund has been established.
