Mrs. Michael A. (Pauline M.) Maggio Sr., 90, of Sunnycrest Manor, formerly of 2940 Elm St., died at 5:30 a.m. Thursday, May 1, 2003, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., where there will be a parish wake service at 4:30 p.m.

She was born on June 4, 1912, in New Orleans, daughter of Steve and Nellie (Phillips) Loycano. She married Michael A. Maggio 74 years ago on July 17, 1928, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Dubuque.

She was a member of Holy Ghost Parish. Pauline was a very devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed keeping her home and having Sunday dinners for her family and friends. She especially liked caring for her flowers and roses.

Surviving are her husband, Michael A. Maggio Sr.; a daughter-in-law, Dolores Maggio, of Dubuque; four grandchildren, Michael F. (Patty Lochner) Maggio, of Dubuque, Jeffrey T. (Sherry) Maggio, of San Diego, Calif., David J. (Angela) Maggio, of Taos, N.M., Kim A. (Donald) Meyer, of Dubuque; six great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Red McInerney, of Dubuque.

She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Maggio Jr.; a grandson, Craig Maggio; a sister, Josephine McInerney; three brothers, Steve Loycano, George Loycano and Vince Scardino.

Memorials may be given to Holy Ghost Church, 2921 Central Ave., Dubuque, Iowa 52001.
