Ervin E. Wild, 93, of 2045 Morningview Road, Dubuque, formerly of Berlin, Wis., died at 9:10 a.m. Sunday, April 27, 2003, at The Finley Hospital, Dubuque.

Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., Dubuque, where there will be a parish wake service at 4 p.m.

He was born on Oct. 18, 1909, in Dubuque, son of Charles and Margaret (Seibold) Wild. He married Therese M. Jestice on Sept. 27, 1934, at Sacred Heart Church, Dubuque.

In his early years, he was a typesetter for 16 years at the Daily Catholic Tribune in Dubuque until it closed. After moving to Berlin, he worked at Ray Wild Motors as the parts service manager for 50 years.

Erv and Therese moved back to Dubuque in May 1999 to be near their family.

He was a member of St. Anthony Parish, Dubuque. He was a former member of St. Joseph's Parish, Berlin, for 50 years, where he cared for the flower gardens around the church and grotto. He also was an active member of the Knights of Columbus in Dubuque and Berlin.

Erv enjoyed bowling and golfing and was interested in all sports. His favorite past- time was working crossword puzzles.

Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Therese M. Wild; a brother, Leo (Lonny) Wild, of Dubuque; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.

An Ervin E. Wild Memorial Fund has been established.
