SUICIDE -- Quite an aged German committed suicide on Saturday evening on Chestnut Street, in the second ward, by taking a large dose of prussic acid. He had been in this country about a year and had exhausted all his means, relying for some time past upon the generosity of a friend. On being told he must do something for himself, and find another place to board, he gave way to despair and comitted the sad and fatal act. The name of the unfortunate man was C. G. Schrider. He was well educated, respectably connected, and had once been wealthy. His family are still in Germany. A coroner's inquest was held over the body and a verdict rendered in accordance with the facts above stated.
