Stewart Muir, 60, of 2799 Kremer Park Drive, died at 2:50 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2003, at St. Joseph Hospital, Hillsboro, Wis.

Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, with the Rev. Daniel Knepper officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where there will be a wake service at 7:30 p.m. Friends also may call after 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral Home.

Mr. Muir was a self-employed painter who had been working with Murphy Painting & Decorating in Kieler, Wis., for the past several years.

He was born on June 4, 1942, in Glasgow, Scotland, son of Joseph and Sarah (Houston) Muir. He married Sandra Seaman on Oct. 26, 1985, in Dubuque.

He was proud to become a United States citizen in May 1990.

Surviving are his wife, Sandra, of Dubuque; a son, Stewart Muir, of New York; two daughters, Audrey (Mike) Stewart and Karen (Mike) Baisley, both of New York; two granddaughters and a grandson, all of New York; and two brothers, Kenneth (Diane) Muir, of Florida, and Campbell (Sarah) Muir, of New York. He will be sadly missed by his in-laws, Lloyd and Elaine Seaman, Suzy and John Halloran, Sara and Joseph Gianino and Paul and Ellen Seaman; and many nephews and nieces.
