Mrs. William (Marion C.) Connolly, 89, of Stonehill Care Center, formerly of 517 West 17th St., died at 5:15 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2003, at the care center.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery, New Melleray Abbey, rural Peosta, Iowa. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., where there will be the parish wake service at 7 p.m.

She was born on April 17, 1913, in Louisville, Ky., daughter of John and Elizabeth (Pranti) Kraker. She married William J. Connolly on Sept. 15, 1928, at St. Columbkille's Catholic Church, Dubuque; he preceded her in death on June 23, 1982.

Marion was a member of St. Patrick's Parish and Rosary Society.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed shopping and sewing in her spare time.

Surviving are two daughters, Mary R. (Ronald) Hagensten, of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Carol A. (Don) Lambert, of Dubuque; a son, Roger J. (Alvina) Connolly, of Dubuque; 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Olive Kraker, of Dubuque.

She also was preceded in death by two sisters, Victoria Kraker and Antonette Kraker; and by two brothers, Roy Kraker and John "Jack" Kraker.

Memorials may be given to St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 1425 Iowa Street, Dubuque, Iowa 52001.
