CASCADE, Iowa - Pamela A. Merfeld, 47, of 25201 Garryowen Road, Cascade, died at 1:25 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2003, at Mercy Medical Center-Dyersville.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Martin's Catholic Church, Cascade, with the Rev. Daniel Krapfl officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Cascade. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home, Cascade, where there will be a wake service at 4 p.m.

Pamela worked as a secretary for the Anamosa (Iowa) Police Department for 12 years.

She was born on March 25, 1955, in Monticello, daughter of Joseph and Dode (Leesekamp) Merfeld.

She was a 1973 graduate of the former Aquin High School in Cascade. She also was a 1975 graduate of the former Northeast Area One Technical Institute in Dubuque.

She was a member of St. Matthias Parish, Cascade.

Surviving are her parents, Joseph and Dode Merfeld, of Cascade; a sister, Lisa Manternach, of Cascade; three brothers, Mark (Deb) Merfeld, of Monticello, and Tim Merfeld and Todd (Dana) Merfeld, both of Cascade; her grandmother, Mary Merfeld, of Cascade; uncles and aunts, Carl Merfeld, of Monticello, Louis (Gladys) Merfeld, of Dubuque, Frances (Gerri) Merfeld, of Benton Harbor, Mich., Robert (Cheryl) Merfeld, of Garden Prairie, Ill., Allan (Beverly) Merfeld, of Rockford, Ill., Lawrence Ahlers, of Farley, Rose Marie Oswald, of Monticello, Annabelle (Gerald) Gudenkauf, of Delhi, Theresa Drew and Irene Peiffer, both of Cascade, and Betty (Bob) McMahan, of Waterloo; and nieces and nephews, Tanya Manternach, Brooke Manternach, Paula Manternach, Brandi Keenlance, Melissa Merfeld, Tony Merfeld, Kiel Merfeld, Jake Manternach, Allyson Merfeld, Isaac Merfeld and Natalie Merfeld.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Jeffery Merfeld, in 1965; her grandparents, Joseph Merfeld Sr., and Louie and Annie Leesekamp; and aunts and uncles, Mary Ahlers, Peg Merfeld, Earl Oswald, Ralph Drew, Melvin Peiffer and Judy Merfeld.

A Pamela A. Merfeld Memorial Fund has been established.
